So, you think you'd like to foster a cat for Nine Lives Rescue Mission? Excellent! Fostering is a rewarding experience that helps animals in need by allowing them to live in a home, with a family, while we work on matching them with the right forever home. Fostering is the alternative to keeping them in an isolated, caged environment where they can potentially develop more issues as a result.
Nine Lives Rescue Mission does not have a shelter and relies upon its foster family volunteers to:
Provide love and care for the animals in preparation for their adoption
Evaluate the cats and assist with matching them with a family during the adoption process
Arrange meetings with the cat and the potential adoptive family
Transport cats to vet clinics for necessary health care
Transport cats to adoption events
Fostering a cat requires a big commitment of your time and resources. You must be certain that your own pets will accept and get along with foster cats. You must also ensure your pets are up-to-date on their vaccinations prior to taking in foster cats.
